The carvings of Arbor's Meteora series have, for reasons I can not really explain, always given me the impression of abstracted versions of the pre-Columbian artwork of certain South American civilizations (minus, obviously, the feather-cloaked warriors devouring the hearts of their enemies and such). It is, perhaps, simply the strong presence of bold, squared forms outlining the more organic lines of the rusticated spaces between them. However you personally may see the Meteora, there's no doubting that it is uniquely Ardor's - I can't think of any other pipemaker who makes anything like it.
